Liz Pecos is the co-chair of the ƵDiversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and Chair of the Joint IATSE/AMPTP DEI Committee for the Hollywood Basic and Area Standards Agreement Locals. She is an International Representative in the ƵMotion Picture & Television Department. Previously, Liz was elected as the first female and BIPOC President at ƵLocal 480. In New Mexico, she served on the New Mexico Governor’s Council of Film and Media Services and as a Vice President on the New Mexico Federation of Labor AFL-CIO Executive Board. Liz is the ƵDistrict 5 Political Coordinator and Women’s Coordinator and currently sits on the Entertainment Community Fund Human Services Committee.
Prior to working for the International, Liz worked in film and television as a costume supervisor and designer. She was born and raised in New Mexico and is proud of her indigenous heritage and her opportunity to work with and expand opportunities for underrepresented populations. She is a member of the Pueblo of Jemez, known as “Walatowa,” or “this is the place,” and traces her ancestors back to the original Pueblo of Pecos.
