TORONTO, ON -<\/strong> L'ºìÌÒÊÓƵapplaudit le ministre du Patrimoine canadien Pablo Rodriguez et le gouvernement du Canada pour avoir fait avancer le projet de loi C-11 (le Loi sur la diffusion en ligne<\/em>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

En tant que plus grand syndicat du spectacle, repr\u00e9sentant plus de 36 000 travailleurs cr\u00e9atifs canadiens, l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵc\u00e9l\u00e8bre le soutien \u00e0 l'industrie canadienne du spectacle. Qu'elles soient nationales ou internationales, ces productions cr\u00e9ent de bons emplois pour la classe moyenne, qui profitent non seulement \u00e0 nos membres, mais aussi aux entreprises et aux communaut\u00e9s dans lesquelles elles sont tourn\u00e9es.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Le directeur des affaires canadiennes, John M. Lewis, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \"Nos membres travaillent \u00e0 la fois sur des productions nationales et \u00e9trang\u00e8res, et nous voulons nous assurer qu'un \u00e9quilibre est trouv\u00e9 pour que les deux secteurs puissent r\u00e9ussir. Nous sommes convaincus que c'est l'intention qui sous-tend le projet de loi C-11\".<\/p>\n

Les studios et diffuseurs mondiaux ont apport\u00e9 une vague d'emplois au pays, contribuant \u00e0 hauteur d'environ $5,3 milliards d'euros par an, soit plus du double des entit\u00e9s nationales. Il est essentiel de veiller \u00e0 ce que les deux secteurs soient trait\u00e9s \u00e9quitablement, sans pour autant repousser les entit\u00e9s qui fournissent la majorit\u00e9 des emplois \u00e0 nos membres. L'industrie doit rester un secteur qui offre des emplois durables et bien r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s aux Canadiens.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nous attendons avec impatience que le projet de loi soit adopt\u00e9 par le S\u00e9nat apr\u00e8s les vacances de P\u00e2ques, et nous sommes convaincus que lorsque le CRTC \u00e9valuera ce qui constitue un \"contenu canadien\", il braquera enfin les projecteurs sur nos cr\u00e9ateurs qui travaillent dur en coulisses.<\/p>\n
