Aredas, repr\u00e9sentant international en charge du bureau de la c\u00f4te ouest et membre de l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵdepuis 1967, a annonc\u00e9 sa retraite aujourd'hui (9 f\u00e9vrier) lors de la r\u00e9union du bureau ex\u00e9cutif g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵqui s'est tenue cette semaine \u00e0 Palm Harbor, en Floride.<\/p>\n<p>Michael F. Miller, Jr, onzi\u00e8me vice-pr\u00e9sident international du bureau ex\u00e9cutif g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l'IATSE, a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 repr\u00e9sentant en charge du bureau de la c\u00f4te ouest par le pr\u00e9sident international Thomas C. Short pour succ\u00e9der \u00e0 M. Aredas.<\/p>\n<p>\"Joe Aredas est un homme de confiance, respect\u00e9 et admir\u00e9 par tout le monde dans l'industrie du divertissement\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident international Short. \"Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 un ami pour moi pendant 30 ans et a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la croissance des sections locales d'Hollywood jusqu'aux 30 000 membres que nous avons aujourd'hui. Aredas est le repr\u00e9sentant international en charge du bureau de la c\u00f4te ouest depuis sa nomination par le pr\u00e9sident international Short en 1998. Originaire de Los Angeles, il a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re dans l'industrie du divertissement en 1967 \u00e0 l'atelier d'usinage de MGM en tant que membre de l'ancien ºìÌÒÊÓƵLocal 789 Cinetechnicians. En 1980, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 repr\u00e9sentant commercial adjoint de la section 695 de l'IATSE, poste qu'il a occup\u00e9 pendant sept ans. Peu apr\u00e8s, il a accept\u00e9 un poste chez Consolidated Film Industries (CFI), un laboratoire de d\u00e9veloppement de films cin\u00e9matographiques d'Hollywood, en tant que vice-pr\u00e9sident des relations de travail. Aredas est vice-pr\u00e9sident de la California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, et si\u00e8ge au conseil d'administration de l'Entertainment Industry Development Corporation (EIDC), du Motion Picture and Television Fund, de l'Entertainment Industry Foundation, de la California Film Commission et du Board of Airport Commissioners of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Le onzi\u00e8me vice-pr\u00e9sident international Miller est membre du bureau ex\u00e9cutif depuis juillet 2004. M. Miller a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re au sein de l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵen 1990 avec la section 27 des machinistes de l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵ\u00e0 Cleveland, Ohio. En 1993, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu au conseil ex\u00e9cutif de cette section et a occup\u00e9 cette fonction jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'il soit \u00e9lu secr\u00e9taire-tr\u00e9sorier en 2000. Il a \u00e9galement travaill\u00e9 en tant qu'agent commercial du d\u00e9partement sp\u00e9cial B-27 bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Cleveland. En 2001, M. Miller a rejoint le bureau de la c\u00f4te ouest de l'ºìÌÒÊÓƵen tant que repr\u00e9sentant international.<\/p>\n<p>M.
