Tyler McIntosh (he/him/his) joined the ºìÌÒÊÓÆµfamily in September 2019 as Political/Legislative Director and leads the ºìÌÒÊÓÆµWashington, DC office. In this role he advocates on behalf of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµmembers before Congress and the current administration on legislative and regulatory issues impacting behind-the-scenes entertainment workers. He oversees IATSE’s federal policy agenda in Washington and coordinates the International’s political and legislative campaigns. He is a proud brother of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµLocal 857, Treasurers and Ticket Sellers.
He is a passionate advocate for advancing workers’ rights and fundamental Democratic ideals, utilizing professional experience in legislative advocacy, political fundraising, and grassroots activism to achieve positive outcomes for ºìÌÒÊÓÆµmembers and families.
Tyler joined ºìÌÒÊÓÆµafter three years managing federal legislation at a trade association. Prior to that he spent multiple election cycles as a campaign finance and fundraising consultant for Democratic organizations and candidates at various levels of government. His resume also includes stints at two nonprofit organizations where he worked on federal workforce issues and youth engagement in elections. Tyler got his start in politics as an intern for his then hometown Congressman, Rep. Frank Kratovil (MD-01) and is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.
